Meet Lifted Voices Fellow Yema Thomas

Lifted Voices is BCDI-Atlanta’s diversity, equity and inclusion program - a multi-tiered approach designed to systematically address the programmatic needs of social justice. Five IMPRESSIVE fellows make up our inaugural class. Let's meet Lifted Voices Fellow Yema Thomas!

Yema Thomas is a blossoming performance art historian, arts administrator, and museum educator who has cultivated a rounded skill set in the arts. As an active member of Atlanta’s creative sector, she has established a programming company called AfroHeat designed to enhance the presence of cultural activities within her community. Thought leader behind High Frequency Friday at the High Museum of Art, as public programs coordinator, she develops and manages ongoing community programs and special exhibition-related events including Friday Jazz, talks and lectures, arts-based classes and workshops.

BCDI-Atlanta is honored to have Yema in our inaugural Lifted Voices Fellowship program!
