BCDI-Atlanta has implemented the NBCDI Family Engagement Program (FEP) as the key curriculum for powerful families. FEP aims to create opportunities and address the needs of both children and their families, fostering improved family economic stability. In collaboration with NBCDI and Raising A Reader, children were provided with culturally responsive books this summer, showcasing Black children and their caregivers. These captivating and relatable stories empower children to develop a love for reading and learning, while fostering stronger family bonds in a nurturing and intellectually stimulating home environment.
Furthermore, BCDI-Atlanta goes the extra mile by incorporating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) experiences into their summer programs. Through hands-on STEAM projects, children enhance critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and develop an appreciation for the wonders of the world.
By nurturing strong children and empowering powerful families, the organization lays the foundation for a brighter future. BCDI-Atlanta's commitment to providing high-quality summer learning experiences through culturally responsive literature and engaging STEAM activities is a testament to the transformative power of education. Embracing diversity and fostering a love for learning, they are shaping a generation of empowered and enlightened individuals who will create positive change in their communities and beyond.
