Congrats to the Graduates of our 2021 Powerful Families & Fostering Family Leaders Programs!

For our 2020-2021 family engagement programming, BCDI-Atlanta proudly partnered with United Way of Greater Atlanta to implement our newly designed program we intentionally named Powerful Families; because, Black families really ARE powerful! We added an additional tier to support a select group of parents and early education staff in leadership development by implementing United Way's Fostering Family Leaders program.

In Fulton County and the City of Atlanta, we are proud to have graduated 45 participants from the BCDI-Atlanta Powerful Families program and 15 participants from our Fostering Family Leaders program. We held a fun-filled celebration on May 6 via Zoom attended by families, funders, advisory committee members, and partners. Each graduate received a gift package honoring program completion.

Thanks to Fulton County Schools, Sheltering Arms Early Education Centers, United Way of Greater of Atlanta and YMCA of Metro Atlanta for serving as partners this inaugural program year! We look forward to continuing our work with your families and early education staff in the coming school year! Thanks to all the agencies and organizations serving as community partners on our Powerful Families Advisory Committee.

We received another 2Gen Innovation Grant from Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care & Learning for 2021-2022 implementation, so... Let's do it again - EVEN BETTER!
