Introducing BCDI-Atlanta's
Imagining Bright Futures: A Family Literacy Series
Imagining Bright Futures is a free, virtual family literacy series hosted by BCDI-Atlanta for parents and caregivers of children ages birth–8. The series is designed to help families nurture early literacy through joyful, practical, and culturally affirming practices rooted in everyday life.
Across six interactive sessions, families explore how talking, storytelling, reading, and play support language development, imagination, and confidence. Using an Afrofuturism-inspired lens, the series invites families to imagine the futures they want for their children and the literacy habits that help make those futures possible.
Sessions are offered in two flexible formats, Talk, Read Thursdays (7:00-8:00 PM) and StoryLab Saturdays (10:00 - 11:00 AM), to support families’ schedules. Families may attend one or multiple sessions.
The series is part of BCDI-Atlanta’s Read to Succeed program and is supported by the Georgia Reads Community Award.
